Sherri Shepherd had a proud moment in Hollywood this week.
The actress, comedian, and talk show host received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, November 3, with her son Jeffrey right beside her as she celebrated the honor.
The celebration brought out some of Shepherd’s closest friends, including Tyler Perry, Niecy Nash, and producer Ira Bernstein, who cheered as she accepted the 2,827th star on the famous boulevard.
For Shepherd, the ceremony was more than a career highlight. It was a reflection of years of hard work that began long before the cameras.
“I used to always dream that I was going to be somebody, ’cause on my report card it always said, `Sherri is amazing and she’s wonderful, but she talks too much.’ So before I got in trouble, I knew it was going to pay off –me talking too much,” she said during her speech.

She later got emotional as she thanked her son, Jeffrey Charles Tarpley.
“My biggest shout-out is to my son, Jeffrey Tarpley. My son who was born at 25 weeks, a pound and 10 ounces, and everybody told me he wouldn’t be here,” Shepherd said. “Everything that I do, everything that I am, is for my baby. He’s 20, but he’ll always be my baby.”
Over the years, Sherri has made her mark on both the big and small screens.
She’s brought her humor and charm to shows like 30 Rock, Harlem, The Jamie Foxx Show, and The Sex Lives of College Girls. On the film side, she’s appeared in fan favorites including Precious, Think Like a Man, and Ride Along 2. She also made history on Broadway as the first Black actress to take on the role of the stepmother in Cinderella.
Before hosting her current talk show, Sherri, she co-hosted The View for seven years, earning multiple Emmy nods and a win in 2009. In 2022, she made her return to daytime TV with her own show after guest-hosting The Wendy Williams Show.
And she’s not stopping anytime soon. In January, she will be kicking off a five-month comedy tour that will sure to make you laugh!
