Monica rang in her 45th birthday surrounded by close family and friends, including her children and The Boy Is Mine tour co-headliner, Brandy.
The Grammy-winning singer celebrated her big day on October 24, 2025, during her Nashville stop at Bridgestone Arena, where fans surprised her by singing “Happy Birthday” mid-show.

Offstage, Monica kept the celebration going with a mini photoshoot. In photos shared on Instagram, she posed with her children, Laiyah and Rodney, along with Brandy and Brandy’s daughter, Sy’rai Smith.
In another snap, the R&B star looked radiant in a sleek white gown with button details and a flowing train as she stood beside a towering gold-and-white cake featuring her name in bold letters.

“My Love & Children @laiyah & @rodneyy. My Bestie Flew In @bosslady_ent. My Group Member @brandy & The Beautiful @syraismith gifted me a GORGEOUS bag… BRONICA IS A THING LOL … LOVE YOU GUYS DEEP. You’re The Best Things ,” Monica captioned the post.
Monica and Brandy are currently on their first-ever co-headlining run. The 24-city tour kicked off on October 16 and will make its way across 24 cities before wrapping up on December 7.
It also marks 25 years since their 1998 duet “The Boy Is Mine,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 weeks and and remains one of the most iconic R&B collaborations of all time.

“This really is a full-circle moment,” Brandy said in a statement. “Monica and I coming together again isn’t just about the music — it’s about honoring where we came from and how far we’ve both come.”
“The love that ‘The Boy Is Mine’ continues to receive means everything to me. This tour is a celebration of our history, our impact, and the fans who have grown with us. Brandy and I have been on our own unique journeys, and coming back together in this way is a reminder of the power of respect, strength, and real music,” Monica added.
