Austin, born on September 4, 2024, is Sims and Barnes’ second child together. They also share son Ashton Joseph Barnes. Sims is mom to three children from a previous relationship, while Barnes is father to twin sons from his marriage to Gloria Govan.

They closed their message with hashtags that reflected the couple’s blended family dynamic, including “#KOE” (Kids Over Everything) and “Peaceful Co-Parenting is a Gift”.

While the birthday shoot showed a healthy co-parenting dynamic, the pair’s relationship hasn’t always been so smooth.

Back in January, Sims accused Barnes of cheating with multiple women in a scathing Instagram post. Barnes later addressed the split on his All the Smoke podcast, admitting,

“I literally lost my family by being exactly what you talked about,” he said. “Like, I was the strong provider, but I wasn’t there emotionally. I wasn’t empathetic. I wasn’t willing to share those emotions… That was stuff that my ex would tell me: ‘You’re a wall.’”

Sims later responded on Instagram, calling on Barnes to stop speaking about her publicly and instead focus on their kids.

She wrote, “If you don’t have respect for yourself or for me, at least have respect for our children who follow you and see your posts. Your post is triggering for the kids and I, while we’re in the midst of healing and rebuilding our lives. We’re the ones who reaped all the damage you caused by your constant selfish, toxic choices. You didn’t consider our kids in your actions before, please try to consider them now.”
