Gekyume Onfroy is melting hearts everywhere.
The 6-year-old son of the late rapper XXXTentacion recently posed for new school photos that has gotten an outpouring of love from fans online.
“Omggggggg I’m crying, He is so perfect,” one person wrote, while another added, “Such a smart little gentleman. You deserve to be so proud 🤍.” Others chimed in with, “He must know he’s a handsome young man ” and “God bless you, Gek. .”
Gekyume recently gave his very first interview with content creator Brandon Sloane and it all happened inside a Target.
After being told to pick out some toys, the youngster grabbed two Funko Pop! Pokémon figures, Mimikyu and Greninja, before chatting with Sloane about his choices.
“To be a YouTuber,” he explained when asked why he picked them, adding, “I’m on YouTube, so that’s why I’m a YouTuber.”
The chat turned emotional when Sloane asked if Gekyume had a message for his late father. The little one paused before answering, “I love him.”
He then sweetly asked Sloane, “Do you love your mom and dad?”
After hearing yes, Gekyume smiled and said, “Ok, that’s good,” before softly adding, “My dad went to a hospital. He didn’t never make it.”
Before wrapping up, Gekyume issued a playful challenge — a $10 rap battle. Channeling his father’s musical legacy, he even incorporated a bit of singing, hinting at the same natural talent XXXTentacion was known for.
XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, was tragically killed on June 18, 2018, just weeks after learning he was going to become a father.
Gekyume’s mother, Jenesis Sanchez, has shared that the rapper chose his son’s unique name himself.
“Gekyume means different state or next universe of thought. And yes, Jahseh picked out this name before he passed away,” she explained in an interview. “I know it’s kind of hard to say, Gekyume. So, he goes by Yume.”
