At just five years old, Christopher Bess is already making waves in the world of basketball—except he’s not playing the game, he’s coaching it. The young prodigy, known for his impressive basketball knowledge and infectious enthusiasm, recently made a special appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where he shared his unique perspective on the sport and what it takes to be a great coach, regardless of age. And as you would expect, the EGOT-winner had a special surprise for Coach CB as well!
During his interview with the 43-year-old host, Coach CB revealed that he is an early riser on the weekends. The adorable 5-year-old told Hudson that he gets up as early as 3 am for film study and 5 am for practice on Saturdays.
A surprised Hudson said, “You take this job very seriously,”
Coach CB responded, “I got to get paid a lot!”
Also during the interview Coach CB shared withe audience his breakfast routine, which consists of french toast sticks and cheerios, and of course, he has to have his morning “coffee” (and apple juice box).
Coach CB is not just about sports. He is also proving that he is a scholar in the classroom as he and how he is on a pursuit to become bilingual by learning a second language: Spanish.
The one regret that Coach CB told Hudson that he had in regards to his last visit to Los Angeles was missing a Lakers Game. Well, the “Here I Am” singer had a surprise for the young basketball coach to make things right.
“Our friends at the Los Angeles Lakers knew you were coming and they sent you something,” she explained, bringing out a Lakers jersey for Coach CB and tickets for him and his entire family to see the Lakers play.
We have a feeling that we will be seeing a lot more of this adorably talented basketball coach on and off the court. His passion and dedication are proving that age is just a number.
