Sister, Sister stars Tia and Tamera Mowry celebrated Thanksgiving separately this year—and their fans are feeling some kind of way about it.
Tamera hosted Thanksgiving at her home in Northern California, sharing sweet family moments on Instagram. The photos showed her husband, Adam Housley, their two kids, her parents, and her brother Tahj.
She captioned, “Happy Thanksgiving. What a blessing it was to have family come up North to spend Thanksgiving this year! And what a treat it was to have my mom teach me all the tricks in making her turkey and ham. Was so nervous to do it myself. But I learned you just have to dive in and go for it!”
Meanwhile, Tia Mowry kept things casual, celebrating Thanksgiving in Tennessee with her two kids, brother Tavior, and his family. Tia posted a series of photos on Instagram, writing, “We had the best time in Nashville for Thanksgiving! Love you, @taviordontaemowry @zandymowry The kids and I cherished every moment with you and your beautiful family—so many sweet memories to hold onto. ”
While both sisters appeared to enjoy quality time with loved ones, fans were quick to notice their separate celebrations.
“We’re not liking this. Y’all need to fix it!” one person said.
Another said, “Yall make up please. We want yall to be together on special holidays. Life is too short. I love both of you guys together. I’ve been watching reruns of yall and it’s hard to see this. Christmas is coming and I love when you guys were together. Us 90’s kids would love to see yall together please .”
In a recent interview, Tia explained that it’s normal for siblings to grow apart as they get older and start their own families. The actress acknowledged that Tamera has a “family of her own,” so it’s “normal” and “very natural” for them to focus on their respective lives and families.
“You start as siblings in a household and a family, and as we grow up and start our own families, it is very normal for all of us to take on new roles and responsibilities when it comes to our life.”
“There’s so much love there. There’s this beautiful bonding connection that we have that will never leave,” she continued. “My sister and I have always been women of inspiration, and we will continue to. And why would that change now?”
Still, Tia has been honest about feeling distant from Tamera, especially during her divorce from Cory Hardrict.
In a preview for her upcoming reality show Tia Mowry: My Next Act, Tia admitted, “It’s times like this when I feel and wish that my sister and I were still close and I could pick up the phone and call her but that’s just not where we are right now.”
