We are all truly enjoying the parenting journey of Empire actress Gabourey Sidibe as she keeps us in the loop as to what is going on with Cooper and Maya. Recently, the new mom shares a hilarious new video on social media saying that her twins have humbled her “beyond repair”.
The 41-year-old new mom shared the video on Instagram, captioning it, “I TOO, have never aspired to be humble but the twins have humbled me beyond repair I fear.” In the hilarious clip, which will unquestionably bring a laugh to your day, the actress is seen “reinforcing” her wig, referencing that her soon Cooper has his own specific opinions about who Sidibe should be in public and at home.
“My son and I have a difference of opinion about who I should be,” she explained to the camera, letting fans know that she was getting ready for a pediatrician visit. “My son thinks that just because I’m bald-headed with spit-up all over me at home, that that’s also who I should be in the streets, and no. No, I don’t have to be bald-headed and spit upon in the streets. Imma be flourishing. Ok? Ok?”
Sidibe even suggests that she will go one step further and “put on a little eyeliner,” but ultimately she decides against both the wig and eyeliner saying that, “You know, who am I? Never mind. I’m gonna take this off and never mind.”
Of course, the comments in the comment section of the video are definitely worth a read as well. Sidibe’s husband, Brandon Frankel, gave his wife a little extra support saying, “You’re doing great, love.”
One social media user wrote, “Talk about a plot twist! I was NOT expecting that ending,” followed by a series of laughing emojis.
Another gave the Oscar-nominated actress a suggestion, “You might wanna try a little reverse psychology. Put the wig on him. He’ll hate it and insist on putting it back on YOUR head.”
A third commented something that every parent knows, “Babies definitely remind you who the boss is.”
Sidibe and her husband welcomed Cooper and Maya in early April of this year. The couple met on a dating app and married in 2021.
