From an early age, West exhibited exceptional intelligence and ambition. His mother taught him to read by the time he was just three years old, and he began first grade at age four. Throughout his educational journey, he attended a mix of private schools, public schools, and even experienced homeschooling, which fostered his advanced learning.

“I’ve always wanted to go to college and be on campus, have that experience that I’ve seen on TV and read in books,” the teen said in an interview with WBAL-TV.

West went on to reflect on his unique position, noting the mix of excitement and nervousness he felt starting college. “I was a little bit nervous because, although I was ready, it was interesting to see how people would come up to me and ask, ‘How did you get here?’ Things like that, so I started realizing that this is rare,” the teen shared.

Despite not living in the dorms, West is fully engaged in his studies, consistently earning A’s and impressing his professors.

However, he emphasizes that his achievement isn’t just about breaking records. “For me, it’s not so much as making history that’s important, but it’s really just giving an example to other young 13-year-olds, 14s, or even 15-year-olds who aspire to do certain things,” he explained.

His goal is to inspire others, whether they are looking to pursue higher education or embark on entrepreneurial ventures.
