Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union are marking a major milestone today—10 years of wedded bliss!
On Friday, the couple celebrated the occasion with a series of photos from their anniversary celebration.
One particularly touching image featured their 5-year-old daughter, Kaavia, who was moved to tears during the event.
The photo was shared on Kaavia’s own Instagram account, with a sweet caption: “Happy Anniversary mommy & daddy! P.S. Mommy’s song had me shedding tears it was so beautiful.”
The song in question? Shania Twain’s classic hit “Still The One,” which Kaavia featured in a video slideshow.
In their joint Instagram post, Dwyane and Gabrielle reflected on a decade of love and partnership.
“10 years of having a very long, very fun, very loving, never ending sleepover with my homie, lover, partner, and best friend,” they wrote. “Through sickness and health, crisis and celebrations, through bad golf days and flubbed lines and new adventures—We stand united and we thrive. 10 toes down, 10 years in, forever to go.”
Accompanying the photos were a few video clips from the celebration. In one candid moment, Dwyane admitted that their ninth year of marriage had been particularly challenging. “Year nine was hard for us. We were kind of reminiscing on how we got to even here,” he shared.
But the former Miami Heat star, who shares Kaavia with Gabrielle, along with Xavier, 10, Zaya, 17, and Zaire, 22, from previous relationships, expressed deep gratitude for his wife’s unwavering support.
“Thank you for being there to show me all of the things I forget along the way,” he said. “Thank you for continuing to show me that you ain’t going nowhere. That you’re willing to love me through shortcomings I’ve had and the moments of growth that I have. So, thank you for teaching me, thank you for believing in me.”
Gabrielle, touched by Dwyane’s words, responded with a heartfelt speech of her own. She acknowledged the support system that has bolstered their marriage over the years.
“What you just said means everything,” she said. “As you guys all know we’ve been on this path for a long, long time. And the path has been long and beautiful and has taken twists and turns and at every turn you guys have been there. You’ve always put us back on the path.”
