The 2024 Paris Olympics are proving to be a family affair for Snoop Dogg and his family.
On Saturday, the rapper shared a photo on Instagram featuring himself and his granddaughter, Cordoba, just before the Olympics opening ceremony. In the picture, Snoop Dogg is seen kneeling to tie Cordoba’s shoelace as they prepare for the festivities.
“Grandpas duties while at the Olympics,” he wrote in the caption.
Cordell Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s son and Cordoba’s dad, also shared a series of photos from the opening ceremony, showcasing his dad, wife, and daughter. “Medici Family @ the opening ceremony Daddy O accomplished another side mission the game is to be sold not told… 3 letters DNA,” Cordell captioned the moment.
Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr., shares Cordell with his wife, Shante Broadus. The couple also has a son, Corde, and a daughter, Cori.
Earlier this year, Snoop mentioned on The Jennifer Hudson Show that he has “a total of 12 grandkids,” adding that they come in “different ages, ranges, sizes, and I love them all the same way.”
Reflecting on his own relationship with his grandfather, Snoop shared, “My grandpa was my best friend and for me to be that for my grandkids is showing that I actually did well and I was able to outlive the circumstances. Now I can look back — I can teach those who want to get to this level. Or at least give them a blueprint and help them avoid some of the traps that had to deal with.”
Snoop also revealed that his grandkids affectionately call him “Papa Snoop.”
In addition to spending time with his family, Snoop Dogg had a prominent role at the Olympics as one of the final torchbearers.
In an interview earlier this week, Snoop expressed his gratitude for this honor, saying, “I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect. I would have never dreamed of nothing like this,” he said, per Associated Press. “I’m going to be on my best behavior. I’m going to be on my best athleticism. I’ll be able to breathe slow to walk fast and hold the torch with a smile on my face, because I realize how prestigious this event is.
