T.I. and Tiny’s daughter, Heiress Harris, and viral social media sensation Van Van are on a press run for their hit song, “Be You.”
Yesterday marked the first day of the duo’s press tour, and they wasted no time hitting the airwaves. Making stops at more than 5 radio stations in Atlanta, the pair shared the inspiration behind “Be You” and the impact they hope it will have on young listeners.
Speaking about the creation of the song, Van Van revealed to The Morning Hustle, “Me and my dad came up with the idea for Be you and we just heard this beat and we just started making a rap about be you.”
Addressing how the collaboration with Heiress came to fruition, the 5-year-old said, “My dad reached out to Heiress, and he just wanted to work with her, and I wanted to work with her too because I like her singing.”
When asked about the reception of “Be You” among her peers, 8-year-old Heiress shared, “My friends at school love it, and then the older grades like it too.”
Despite their young age, both Heiress and VanVan have a deep appreciation for music. While VanVan enjoys listening to icons like Mariah Carey and Beyoncé, Heiress prefers the tunes of her famous parents, T.I. and Tiny, along with artists like Melanie Martinez and DoJo Cat.
Beyond the music, the press tour serves as a chance for fans to get to know the young artists behind the hit song.
Heiress, who has six siblings, revealed that her favorite is Major Harris because “he helped me with my computer um and then he also helps me get Roblox when my mom’s out of town.”
Released on March 22nd across all major streaming platforms, “Be You” has quickly become an anthem for children everywhere, encouraging them to embrace their individuality and shine brightly. Directed by hip-hop legend MC Lyte, the music video features cameos from other young celebrity kids, adding to the song’s star-studded appeal and spreading its empowering message far and wide.
