Mariska Hargitay and her husband Peter Hermann shared a rare outing with all three of their children for the 2023 Stuttering Association for the Young Benefit Gala.
Hargitay and family stunned on the red carpet as 16-year-old August, 11-year-old Andrew, and 12-year-old Amaya were all smiles for the camera on their big night out. Hargitay wore a beautiful mint-green wrap around dress while her daughter Amaya complemented her mother’s style clad in a dainty, ready-for-summer, off-the-shoulder floral dress. August and Andrew were matching suit colors with their father.
Hargitay and Hermann have been married for 18 years, welcoming their eldest son August to the world in 2006. Shortly thereafter, in 2011, the couple adopted Amaya and then within six months of her adoption, they added Andrew to the family.
“Having lost my mom at a young age, I then grew up with my stepmom, and I have half siblings, and so I know that families can be built in all sorts of different ways, that there isn’t just one way to create a family and that it isn’t just about biology,” the Law and Order: Special Victims Unit actress said in a 2019 exclusive interview with People Magazine.
Hargitay continued, “We adopted Amaya, and Andrew, I always describe it as this angel that fell out of the sky, because he was a little unexpected. It’s something that happened very quickly, when adoption can take a long time. We were so beautifully and surprisingly … not because we’re not in sync, but surprisingly in sync about something so huge. So momentous.”
Both Hargitay and Hermann have been prominent faces on prime time television. Hargitay has portrayed Lieutenant Olivia Benson in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit for the past 23-years and counting. Hermann is known for his roles as Charles Brooks in Younger, Trevor Langan in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Jack Boyle in Blue Bloods.
