“Logan was the reason why I made that decision,” Tamar says when discussing the motivation behind her suicide attempt. The Braxton Family Values star tried overdosing on pharmaceutical drugs earlier this year. Tamar’s boyfriend at the time, David Adefeso, discovered her unconscious body and called for help.
“I just felt like he deserved better,” Tamar tells Taraji. “I felt like I was embarrassing him, being a fool on TV,” the celebrity mom adds. “Because I knew that’s not what my whole life really was. That’s not who I was. I didn’t want him to be embarrassed in front of his friends. Here is this loudmouth ghetto mama.”

Tamar Braxton was in the process of trying to get out of her contract for a new Reality TV series that painted her in a bad light at the time of her suicide attempt. The celebrity petitioned the network, WeTV, for weeks after the trailer to her upcoming show debuted. Executives of WeTV, however, expressed no desire to allow Tamar to leave the agreement. Both Braxton and the executives at WeTV mutually decided to table the new series after her suicide attempt.
