Twins La’nisha and Ron’nisha Richardson are spreading a little #blackgirlmagic throughout Yazoo City, Mississippi as the twins are about to make history, both graduating with 4.1 GPAs and being named as their schools valedictorian and salutatorian.
“I actually have a goals list and on the top of that list it says ‘valedictorian of Class of 2020,’ so it was always in my head,” La’nisha said in an interview with WAPT. Her sister, salutatorian Ron’nisha said, in the same interview, that, “We definitely credit our mom when it comes to making sure we are on top. It’s our work and we have to get it done, she makes sure we get it done and if we don’t get it done, it’s gonna be a problem.”
Of course, just like all 2020 seniors, the girls admit that this year has had a bittersweet ending to it. With schools being shut down as a result of the pandemic, the twins are not able to participate in the traditional senior activities that they were looking forward to.
Yet, both girls are pushing past the pseudo-disappointing present and looking towards the future. La’nisha has already been accepted at Mississippi State. She is planning on studying to become a physical therapist. Ron’nisha is planning to join the Air Force to pursue a career in medicine. Congratulations twin on this amazing milestone accomplishment in your educational careers! We know that the future holds something truly special for the both of you!
