CAVANAUGH BELL IS PROVING THAT LOVE IS GREATER THAN COVID-19

During this time of global crisis, we are hearing stories about people all around the world who are stepping up and proving that #weareallinthistogether as they help out neighbors and strangers in need. One of those individuals is a seven-year-old Maryland boy named Cavanaugh Bell who has proven that Love is Greater Than COVID-19.

This amazing young man gave all of his $600 savings to buy and create COVID-19 Care Packs for seniors. The idea came to him when he thought of his grandmother going to the grocery store during this time, putting herself at risk to catch the disease.

“One day I was thinking about my grandma and I was like ‘Oh, mommy she shouldn’t be going out to the grocery store because it’s coronavirus season. She’s my best friend,'” he told CNN in an interview. When asked by the news outlet about the contents of his special care packages, he said, “The packages include toilet paper, some flushable wipes, hygiene products and a bunch of food.”

And of course, his efforts have now gone viral to where he is not only helping seniors, but he is running a mobile pantry for his community to help families and individuals who have lost jobs as a result of the pandemic.

“I want to help as many people in my community get through this scary time,” 7-year-old Bell shared on his GoFundMe page. Bell now has his heart set on getting to a $10,000 goal to help more people because, “It makes [him] feel beautiful inside because [he] like[s] giving back.”

However, there is much more to this first grader than meets the eye. Prior to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, Bell was already in the process of making his mark in the world as an activist. Bell founded, Cool & Dopea 501(c)(3), with the mission to eradicate bullying and youth suicide worldwide by 2030 through taking action and spreading positivity.

Bell’s mission is unquestionably making waves as he has teamed up with corporate partners, Buca Di Beppo and Brawny, to help provide Maryland families with over 250 hot meals and paper plates and towels. Additionally, a local basketball gym donated their space to house Bell’s pantry.

Bell has a dream to expand his mission to establish other distribution sites for his care packages in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Atlanta, with one caveat-they must be kid-led. With his tenacity and heart of gold, we know that there is no doubt that he will reach his goal and then some.
