Diana Ross is a grandmother who knows how to balance things out. The legendary singer’s daughter, Rhonda Ross, tells PEOPLE Now that the Queen of Motown is not too strict when it comes to the grandkids.
“She’s a great grandmother,” Rhonda says. “She’s not really a spoiler, [but] she’s not really strict, either,” the actress adds. “She’s right in the middle. You can’t get anything past her. She’s got her eye on the ball. But at the same time, she’s so loving and so generous.”
Rhonda Ross is getting back into the swing of acting after a 20-year hiatus from the craft. “I pulled away from acting so I could sow into my child; so I could give him everything,” the celebrity mom shares.
“And now, I’m going back to acting, which I’m so excited about,” Ross says. “I’m meeting with producers. But I had to put that part of my life [in entertainment] on hold to do the other thing, [which was homeschool my son]. So there is that sense of trying to do it all but maybe not at the same time.”
Rhonda Ross made an incredible impact on her son, Raif-Henok Emmanuel Kendrick, during her time away from the spotlight. Not only is Raif-Henok well-spoken in English but he also speaks three other languages fluently. It is important to note that Rhonda Ross’s son is only 10-years-old.
Some may wonder why Rhonda is getting back into acting at this stage in her life. “The reason why acting is the right time for me now is because I’m a ‘grown folk,” she says. “I know where I am in the world. I know my perspective. I understand my life and its impact, and how life has impacted upon me. And I can give that as an actress in a way that I couldn’t twenty years ago.”
