Usher is the latest celebrity to get a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. The singer was given a ceremony on Wednesday.
Naviyd and Usher V stood by their father as he took pictures on the walk. The boys absorbed the sight of fans cheering their father on during the event.
Usher gave a heartfelt speech during his segment that shed light on his followers. “I don’t just celebrate this moment by myself,” he shared. “It’s because of you that this shining star is here,” Usher added.
The celebrity dad also gave accolades to his loved ones. “Mom, thank you for everything and all the people that you’ve actually helped to bring here.” Jonetta Patton doubled as Usher’s mother and manager during the beginning stages of his career. “You selected the right people to be around and to help me be the man I am today and in this position,” Usher further doted.
Wednesday’s ceremony marks the 2,588th time that an entertainer has been given a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. “This is the first time in history that I’ve ever come in 2,588th place — and it felt like No. 1,” Usher shared. The singer has two kids with ex-wife Tameka Raymond.
