Tamera Mowry-Housley celebrated Mother’s Day with family and friends this past Sunday. The actress also shared a blog post in honor of her mother and all of the other mentors who positively impact the lives of others.
“It’s a day to celebrate the woman who brought you into this world, and in many cases, praise those who raised us in a loving, but tough, family,” wrote the star. “My mom did a wonderful job with us kids. She believed in us, she kept us in check and she made me realized that anything is possible.”
Tamera further explained, “Not until having Aden did I truly understand that level of shared love. She would say that you won’t understand until you’re a parent–there is no love like that between a mother and her child. And how right she was. There isn’t a heart big enough to contain all of that love.”
‘The Real’ co-host also shared a few reasons why she loves being a mother. “Hugs and kisses” along with a “new perspective on life” were two of the five reasons that Tamera gave for cherishing parenthood.
It was just a few days ago that Mrs. Housley was given the ‘Mom of the Year’ award by Residence Inn by Marriott. “As a mom, your focus is always on helping your child and family. So to be acknowledged for that — because I hardly ever think about myself — I feel very grateful,” she said of the honor. “We as moms, we try so hard to do the right thing and to have people notice that about you, made me feel really good.”
Tamera and husband Adam Housley are expecting their second child, a girl, to arrive this summer. The couple’s son, Aden, will celebrate his third birthday in November.
