“When I joined the view seven years ago Jeffrey was 2 years old and I was going through a very public divorce,” said Sherri. “Now my son is 9 years old and I’m going through another very public divorce. Let’s just say I’m happy that Barbara Walters and Bill Geddes were better at picking co-hosts for this show than I was at choosing my husbands,” joked the star.

Sherri reflected on her early years on the show in which she cried often and doubted her ability to co-host. “I didn’t want to take this job,” shared the star. “I have to say my boss Barbara Walters pushed me. I cried in my dressing room for three years saying, ‘What am I doing on this table? I don’t know what I’m doing!'” Sherri turned out to be one of the more popular co-hosts on the show after overcoming her insecurities.

Several celebs, including Gospel singers Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurkin, paid tribute to Shepherd on her final day. Arsenio Hall even stopped by and sat at the table while Sherri reflected on the seven years she invested in the show. Little Jeffrey closed out the segment by telling viewers to “take a little time to enjoy the view.”

Jeffrey is Sherri’s only child with ex-husband Jeff Tarpley.
