Anthony Anderson and son, Nathan Anderson, were two of many stars in Hollywood to stop by TriStar Pictures’ premiere of Elysium at Regency Village Theatre in Westwood on Wednesday (August 7). The father and son looked fresh in their plaid shirts and neatly pressed slacks, adding their own swagger to the premiere.
Anthony Anderson recently told Jimmy Fallon that he plans to throw his son an amazing bash for his 13th birthday. “He turns thirteen and all of his friends from school are Jewish, so we are having Nathan’s Hip-Hop Bro Mitzvah. [The Bro Mitzvah is] the Brothers’ version of the Bar Mitzvah,” explained the entertainer.
Anderson also talked about his daughter, telling Jimmy the story of how he managed to embarrass her and a boy named Andre just before leaving for Afghanistan to do a bit of charity work. “I saw them in the library,” said the actor. “I was going over to Afghanistan for a tour so I wanted to go to the school to say goodbye to my kids. And I saw her sitting with this young man, and I had no idea who he was, so one of the other football players was walking by [and] I was like, ‘Hey…who’s little man hanging with my baby girl?’ He was like, ‘Aw that’s Andre, Mr. Anderson. He’s cool, he’s cool.’ I turned to Andre and I was like, ‘You get a pass, only because he (the football player) say’s you’re cool.’ I had no idea that my daughter was digging on this dude and this dude was digging on my baby girl.”
Anderson and wife Alvina have two children together. The couple wed in 1995.
