Halle Bailey is opening up about how her son, Halo, has influenced her creativity.
During a recent appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, the You, Me and Tuscany star spoke about how becoming a mom has changed the way she approaches her music.
“It changes you so much because I feel like I feel things so much deeper now, and it’s a great recipe for creating and writing because you have so much more to talk about and a deeper sense of emotions, I think, to grasp on to,” she said. “I’ve never felt any love like this. It’s crazy.”
In a separate conversation on the IMO with Michelle and Craig podcast, Bailey said becoming a parent pushed her to be more vocal.
“Like I talk about how now I’m like more stronger. I use my voice more. I’m not afraid to speak up. Whereas before, I think I’ve become accustomed to, especially in this industry, you know, you’re used to just smiling and being people pleasing and like, okay, sure, whatever you say. But when it came to him, I was like, no, like I have this urge to speak up for him. And that was something that was really different than the old me because it was a bit more timid and yeah, I would definitely say there’s always an edge, like a new edge for sure.”
Ultimately, she is just trying to be the best version of herself, professionally and personally.
“I think especially at my age, I’m just really trying to learn how I can be the best version of myself so I’m a better mom for him,” she continued. “The big standout this year for me is when I’m working, when I am on a film set, what it means to me to be able to bring my child with me, to travel the world, allow him to see the world too.”
Bailey welcomed Halo in December 2022 with her ex-boyfriend, DDG.
