‘THE WONDER PETS’ ARE BACK FOR SEASON 2 FILLED WITH KINDNESS, CURIOSITY, AND TEAMWORK

Wonder Pets: In the City is back for season two and it is filled with kindness, curiosity, and teamwork

After its successful return to television, the beloved children’s series continues to win over both children and parents on Apple TV+.

In this new season, Izzy the Guinea Pig, Tate the Snake, and Suri the Bunny will set out on more rescue adventures from their kindergarten classroom in New York City.

Jennifer Oxley, the show’s creator and executive producer, took time out of her busy schedule to speak with Parents.com about what viewers can expect from the upcoming season.

At the heart of the series, Oxley says she “wants children to learn that working together is a superpower.” This season expands on that message by celebrating curiosity, friendship, kindness, teamwork, and the unique gifts and talents that make everyone special.

“I hope children come away understanding that kindness makes a difference, that listening is important, and that everyone has something valuable to contribute,” Oxley continues. “When we make space for different voices and work together, we’re stronger, more creative, and capable of making a real difference.”

Oxley shares with the outlet that, in addition to the characters that we all know and love, this season of Wonder Pets: In the City will introduce new characters to help inspire children to overcome life challenges.

The new characters this season include:

• The Theater Mouse: A Broadway mouse worries that his part is too trivial, only to learn that every role, big or small, is important to put on a great show.
• The Slimy Slug: A creature fears his “slime” might hinder friendships, only to find it is actually his most loved trait.
• The Dress-Up Bear: A bear learns that staying true to your own style matters more than fitting into a mold.

In addition to new characters, Wonder Pets: In the City will also feature more memorable music to entertain viewers. The director told Parents.com that each episode is a “mini operetta” that helps deliver messages to children in a fun and unique way.

“Kids (and adults) might find themselves singing about teamwork or kindness long after the episode ends,” Oxley says.

This new season will feature 22 minute episodes, and “at the heart of it, these stories are about what kids are going through every day, exploring kindness, learning how to be a good friend, and how to work together. The world is playful and musical, and the emotions are honest and sincere,” says Oxley.

The new season of Wonder Pets: In the City premieres on March 20 on Apple TV+.
