TEYANA TAYLOR AND DAUGHTER RUE ROSE SHARE SWEET MOMENTS AT THE 2026 ACTOR AWARDS

Teyana Taylor brought a special plus one to the 32nd Annual Actor Awards at Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall on March 1, 2026 in Los Angeles.

The singer and actress was joined by her 5-year-old daughter, Rue Rose Shumpert, who quickly became a scene stealer on the carpet.

Taylor matched her daughter’s energy in a statuesque gray and white form fitting Thom Browne gown with a small train.

The anatomical torso on the dress featured more than 160 pattern pieces, while the skirt included 400,000 sequins and 175,000 beads. She paired the look with a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany & Co. necklace, matching earrings and ring, along with a Bird on a Rock by Tiffany & Co. ring.

At one point, Rue stepped in to help fix the hem of Taylor’s gown as photographers captured the sweet moment.

The pair later posed side by side for photos before stopping to speak with news outlets.

They spoke with ET’s Nischelle Turner, where Rue kicked things off on a lively note by singing a song from Frozen.

“Can I sing you guys a song. I’m going to sing Frozen, but just in a different voice, ” Rue said before belting out the song.

Later, Rue joined her mom for an interview with Justin Sylvester for Live From E!. The youngster delivered remarks that brought Taylor to tears.

“I wanted to say this is such an honor for me being here, and I wanted to thank you guys for my mom and this wonderful day. And all of y’all outfits look very good.  I’m mostly saying this for my mom,” Rue said.

“And this is actually such an honor. Oh, it’s such an honor to be here with you. And I hope when I grow up I can get a trophy, too,” she continued.

Taylor responded, “Oh, you will, baby. You will get whatever you put your mind to.”

“How do you know that?” Rue asked.

“Because a mother knows. Okay. You are going to be everything. You’re everything right now. And when you get older, you’re going to collect every single trophy because it’s already yours and it’s already written,” Taylor said.

“But mommy, if you win every time, that means you’re going to win every day. Even when I grow up and I get nominated, you’re going to win every day,” Rue added.

Taylor is also mom to daughter Iman “Junie” Shumpert Jr., 10, whom she shares with her ex, Iman Shumpert.
