Christina Milian and The-Dream recently celebrated a special milestone as their daughter, Violet Madison Nash, turned 16 on February 26th.
Milian shared a series of photos from a birthday photoshoot on Instagram last week, alongside a touching message honoring her teen.
“Attention Everybody. Today is a BIG day. It’s @VioletMadison’s 16th birthday! And just like everyone else feels— I don’t know how time flew by so quickly?” Milian began.
“What I do know is, from the day I set eyes on her, I discovered what unconditional is. I suddenly overcame fears that I never thought I’d conquer- I knew I would risk anything to make sure she felt safe, I would do everything I could to make her smile, that I would show her the world and beyond. I saw my whole world wrapped up in this little bundle.”
She went on to speak about motherhood and watching Violet grow up in the public eye.
“Violet, I am SO grateful God chose me to be your Mom and I hope you know how much you mean to me. Many of you have watched her grow up in front of your eyes, and let me tell you she is still the happy-go-lucky, often goofy, humble and loving girl she’s always been. Still a kid at heart but also finding herself as everyday passes.”
She also thanked the people who have supported Violet’s upbringing, including her own mother and her husband Matt Pokora, along with Violet’s father and stepmother, Lalonne Martinez.
“Thank you to everyone, family, friends, who have helped me raise her. My Mom for teaching her (really that’s her role dog) Matt for embracing her as your own and offering us both stability and our own family.
“Her Dad, Dream & to Laylani who make our partnership work so well over the years. Keeping her best interests at heart. It’s the CARE shared by ALL OF YOU that makes her so special.”
Milian ended her post with a promise to continue celebrating her daughter throughout the day.
“Okay, I’m gonna pause (for now). Y’all be ready for more posts because I will be FLOODING your timeline today with posts about V. Happy Birthday Violet. I love you. Mommy.”
The-Dream, whose real name is Terius Nash, also posted a tribute in his Instagram Stories. He shared a pink portrait of Violet from the birthday shoot followed by a message.
“Violet Madison, you have became sweeter than I can ever imagined you’d be. One of The kindest and warmest human ever. I love you and for what you mean to me and your mom and the entire universe, I’ll make sure with every piece of my soul you will always have the things you need in this life and the next. Happy Birdsy, I Love You!!!! Love, Always, your Father.”
