Gerber Products Company has announced a voluntary recall of limited batches of the popular baby biscuits due to concerns about possible plastic and paper contamination.

The recall was issued after the company’s supplier recalled a key ingredient used in the product, arrowroot flour. Gerber said the ingredient could contain foreign materials such as soft plastic and paper pieces. In response, Gerber Products Company has ended its relationship with the supplier.

In a news release, the company stated, “The quality, safety, and integrity of our products remain our highest priority, and we take this responsibility seriously. We sincerely apologize for any concerns or inconvenience this action causes for parents, caregivers, and retail customers.”

Arrowroot flour is a grain-free, gluten-free powder made from the rhizomes of the tropical West Indian arrowroot plant and is commonly used in baby snacks for its gentle texture. While no illnesses or injuries have been reported, the company said the recall is being carried out voluntarily “out of an abundance of caution.”

Gerber also noted that no other Gerber products are affected at this time.

Families who have Arrowroot Biscuits at home should check the batch codes and “Best Before” dates printed on the back of the package near the barcode. The recall applies to 5.5-ounce packages produced between July 2025 and September 2025.

If your package matches one of the affected batch codes, do not give the product to your child. Instead, return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

For additional information or questions, parents and caregivers can contact Gerber’s customer service line, which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at 1-800-4-GERBER (1-800-443-7237).
