CHARMAINE BEY IS PREGNANT FOLLOWING POI DIAGNOSIS

Charmaine Bey is expecting her third child with her husband, Neek Bey.

The former Black Ink Crew: Chicago star shared the news on social media this week while opening up about her fertility journey.

“This is my testimony. After being diagnosed with Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI) and living without consistent cycles for years, I was told last month that if I wanted another baby, I should consider donor eggs. That conversation broke me,” she wrote on Instagram.

Charmaine provided more details about her POI diagnosis in another post shared on Facebook. She revealed that her AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone) and FSH (Follicle-Stimulating Hormone), two key hormones used to assess ovarian reserve, were low.

“My AMH was 0.08 and my FSH was 35. We’re talking menopause levels. They call it Primary Ovarian Insufficiency when your ovaries stop working under the age of 50,” she wrote.

Around the same time, the 35-year-old said she began testing Fertilitea, a fertility tea created by her family.

“While drinking the tea, my period returned. Then I ovulated. And now… I’m pregnant,” she shared.

“POI does not mean zero eggs,” Charmaine added. “It means inconsistent ovulation. Some cycles are stronger than others — and this one was mine.”

She also explained why she chose to speak publicly about her experience.

“Everyone’s body and journey are different, but I’m sharing this because I was told to give up… and I didn’t,” she wrote.

While Charmaine said she remains optimistic, she noted that she is being closely monitored.

“We’ll continue to monitor and confirm a healthy heartbeat at our upcoming appointment,” she wrote. “I’m grateful, hopeful, and taking this one day at a time.”

Charmaine and Neek are already parents to two daughters, Nola Glenda Bey, born in March 2020, and Charli Bey, born in February 2022.
