JANET JACKSON SHARES RARE BIRTHDAY MOMENT FOR SON EISSA AS HE TURNS 9

Janet Jackson keeps most details about her son offline, but she marked his 9th birthday this week with a quick post on Instagram.

On Jan. 3, she posted a shot of his cake on Instagram. Instead of a basic sheet cake, it was designed as a red-and-black PlayStation-style controller. A small Astro Bot figure sat on top, with edible details inspired by Minecraft and Astro’s Playroom. The cake was finished with nine tall blue candles and her son’s name written across the top in big letters.

The “Control” singer welcomed her son in 2017 with her ex-husband, Wissam Al Mana. Although she’s always been protective of his privacy, she has been slowly opening up about life as a mom. In a 2024 interview with The Guardian, she said motherhood changed everything for her.

“The most important thing I’ve done, the biggest thing I’ve done, is become a mother and it’s had a beautiful impact on my life,” she shared. The 59-year-old also admitted she once imagined having three kids but realized the reality of giving “all of yourself” made her rethink that.

Back in July 2024, the youngest of the Jackson siblings told BBC that being a mom “is the most beautiful thing.”

At the time, Eissa was with her during her New York stop on the Together Again Tour. Per the BBC, Eissa stood proudly at the side of the stage wearing ear protectors while his mom performed.

During a 2023 appearance on Today, the singer added that being called “mama” brings her “the greatest gratification.” Asked what she enjoys most about parenting, she replied, “Everything. Every — when they’re tired. When you need a break. I just love it all. I love it all.”
