Tina Knowles has shared a birthday tribute in honor of her granddaughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who turns 14 today.
The fashion designer and businesswoman posted the message on Instagram, reflecting on the early days of Blue’s life. In the post, Knowles recalled the moment the family first learned Blue was on the way and explained how her name came to be.
“I remember the day that we found out about you being in your mom‘s womb. We could not have been more excited! We were told that you were the size of a blueberry and that is where your name came from ! We all prayed together for you every single day till you were 12 weeks old in your moms belly! Then we prayed individually until you arrived months later.”
Knowles went on to describe her granddaughter as a fighter from the start, noting that she spoke early and showed a sharp mind even as a child.
“It was apparent that you were a fighter from the beginning, and you talked very early. And you were always smart as a whip we played Princess and Barbie dolls All the time and your imagination was incredible,” she added.

The proud grandmother also praised Blue for remaining grounded as she has grown older.
“To say that I’m a proud grandmother is an understatement! Even with all of your accomplishments and success, you remain a very sweet, kind humble human being,” Knowles wrote.

She closed the message by referring to Blue as her “manager, makeup artist, fashion adviser, my love” before wishing her a happy birthday and signing off with a heart emoji.
Blue Ivy Carter, the daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, was born on January 7, 2012. She has grown up largely in the public eye, often joining her parents famous at major events. She has also performed as a dancer on tour with her mother and has received multiple awards
