A$AP Rocky says fatherhood has softened him in ways he did not expect.
In a recent interview with W Magazine, the rapper and actor shared that becoming a parent has made him more in touch with his emotions.
“I am way more emotional,” he shared. “Before the kids, I was probably cold-hearted. But now I’m a loving kind of fella. I’ve got a lot of love to give to the world.”

The artist, 37, welcomed his third child with Rihanna in September. The baby, a daughter named Rocki Irish Mayers, is the couple’s first girl together. They are also parents to sons RZA, 3, and Riot, 2.
When asked how he might feel one day when someone wants to date his daughter, Rocky kept it simple.
“I’m going to pray for them.”
Rocky has previously discussed how fatherhood has influenced his work. During an appearance on The Run-Through With Vogue last May, he explained that being a present parent now plays a central role in his creative process.

“Being a father is my creative process now because I just embodied it as a whole. I never really had a role model or just an iconic figure,” he said. “And I guess I’m that for people, and I didn’t purposely try to do that, but I take it as a badge of honor.”
He continued, “I’m so flattered and, just being me, that it can inspire people to actually do something that is considered good, being a present, active father.”

In November, Rocky shared his excitement about entering a new chapter as a girl dad. While speaking with Extra, he spoke directly to fellow fathers.
“Yo, I wanna just say this to all the girl dads out there: I’m the newest member of the club, you know what I’m saying? Salute me, and welcome me. It’s a brotherhood, and we gotta stick together out here, you know what I’m saying?”
He added, “Yo, being a girl dad is amazing,” he said. “I mean, check me out. I’m glowing.”
