North West is following in her dad Kanye West’s footsteps.
The 12-year-old is trying her hand at producing beats and recently earned a production credit on a new song for 16-year-old Lil Novi, the son of Lil Wayne and singer Nivea.
Titled Justswagup, the track features artist MAG!C alongside Lil Novi, whose real name is Neal Carter. The beat, which North shared on her Instagram Stories, is dark and bass-forward, built around trap-inspired production that supports Lil Novi’s gritty delivery.

The song has drawn mixed reactions online. While some listeners praised North’s production work, others pointed to Lil Novi’s lyrics, which touch on adult themes like partying, drug use, and luxury. Critics online have questioned whether the subject matter feels appropriate for artists so young, fueling debate around the track.
North has previously appeared alongside her father during live performances and listening events and has joined him onstage in recent years. Her move into music production reflects a growing interest in creative work beyond performing.
