Mariah Carey traded Christmas lights for Halloween lanterns this week as she and her 14-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, celebrated the spooky season overseas.
The “All I Want for Christmas Is You” icon shared festive snapshots on Instagram showing the family’s Halloween celebration in Japan. The 56-year-old wore a Japanese Kawaii-inspired outfit, complete with a white-and-blue dress, bright pink ponytails, and blue bows. Her twins kept things cozy in matching Kigurumi onesies, Monroe in bright yellow and Moroccan in baby blue.
“Happy Halloween from Japan!!!” Carey captioned the post.
The Grammy winner shares her twins with ex-husband Nick Cannon, and the trio’s playful relationship is well-documented. Earlier this year, Carey posted Easter photos with her teens, but they weren’t exactly thrilled. Moroccan commented, “Why do you do this to me mom,” while Monroe echoed his sentiment with, “OMG DELETE IT.”
The pop superstar also earned some lighthearted groans from her kids during a recent Twitch incident. In April, Monroe and Carey unexpectedly wandered into Moroccan’s live stream while he was gaming with friends.
“Sorry chat, my mom is here,” the teen, known affectionately as Rocky, told his audience. His friends immediately chimed in with, “Hey, Mrs. Carey!” prompting Monroe to pop into the frame holding a dog.
“You wanna come here, Mom?” Rocky asked, before Carey leaned into view, waving and saying, “Hi, you guys! I love you too.”
Her son, mortified but laughing, pleaded, “Can y’all please get out, please? Love you. Get out of my room!”
Recently appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the mother-of-two reflected on balancing motherhood and her career while teasing her daughter’s growing musical ambitions.
“My daughter’s into music, and she likes music,” the songstress shared. “She used to sing with me on my Christmas tour, but I don’t know if she’s doing it this year.”
When Fallon asked if Monroe might soon branch out on her own, Carey smiled and said, “I’m trying to get her to do her own thing. I think she wants to. So possibly.”
