Kevin Gates’ estranged wife, Dreka Gates, says the rapper stopped supporting their family financially and is now asking a judge to make him pay.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Dreka claims that in late 2021, Kevin began “dismantling the financial foundation of their family” when he stopped covering basic expenses such as property taxes and private school tuition for their children.

She says that while he pulled back from family responsibilities, he continued to live lavishly, purchasing 18 luxury cars and a $4.7 million mansion in Calabasas, California.
In the filing, Dreka also alleges that their Mississippi farm is now in foreclosure after the IRS placed a $7 million levy on the property for unpaid taxes.
She is asking the court to order Kevin to pay $27,193 a month in child support and $46,274 a month in spousal support.
Dreka is also requesting to be named the children’s primary physical custodian, saying they have been with her about 95 percent of the time since 2023.
Kevin, however, has reportedly claimed that the two were never legally married, a statement Dreka’s legal team calls “factually baseless.”
The pair married in October 2015, and Dreka filed for divorce in July, citing irreconcilable differences. They share two children, daughter Islah, 12, and son Khaza, 11.
Kevin has previously acknowledged having other children, telling YouTuber VladTV, “I have a lot of children. I know I don’t have a lot of biological children, but you can’t tell them that I am not their biological father…I don’t like to make the distinction between, you know, because I have a lot of children that I take care of .”
