SNOOP DOGG SAYS LGBTQ+ STORYLINES IN KIDS’ FILMS MAKE HIM ‘SCARED TO GO TO THE MOVIES’

Snoop Dogg says a simple trip to the movies with one of his grandkids turned into a parenting moment he wasn’t prepared for.

On the Aug. 20 episode of the It’s Giving podcast, the 53-year-old rapper admitted that he now feels “scared to go to the movies” because of what he sees as a growing trend of LGBTQ+ representation in children’s films.

Snoop recalled taking his grandson to see Pixar’s Lightyear in 2022.

The Toy Story spin-off features a female space ranger who shares a kiss with her wife before the couple welcomes a baby son.

Snoop said the scene immediately caught his grandson’s attention. “They’re like, ‘And she had a baby with a woman,’” he told host Sarah Fontenot. “Well, my grandson, in the middle of the movie, like, ‘Papa Snoop? How she have a baby with a woman? She a woman!’”

The entertainer admitted he was thrown off. “I’m like, ‘Oh sh–. I didn’t come here for this sh–. I just came to watch the goddamn movie,’” he recalled.

Instead of explaining, he told the child to keep watching, but his grandson kept pressing. “They just said, she and she had a baby. They’re both women. How did she have a baby?”

Snoop said the moment “f—– me up” and made him think twice about future movie trips.

“I’m scared to go to the movies now. Y’all throwing me in the middle of s— that I don’t have an answer for,” he said.

Reflecting on the experience, the grandfather of seven added that the scene threw him for a loop.

“These are kids. We have to show that at this age? They’re going to ask questions. I don’t have the answer.”
