Teyana Taylor made the 2025 BET Awards a true family affair.
The singer and actress brought along her daughters, Junie and Rue Shumpert, as well as her new boyfriend, actor Aaron Pierre, to the annual awards show held on June 9 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

On Thursday, Taylor shared a carousel of behind-the-scenes moments from the night on Instagram, captioning the post simply, “BET 2025 dump.
The photo set included snapshots of her time with her daughters and affectionate moments shared with Pierre.
Taylor recently praised Pierre for supporting her creatively. In an interview with GQ, she credited the actor for helping bring her upcoming visual album, Escape Room, to life.
“He’s a real big music head and just how hands-on he’s been on this album with me has been really amazing to see,” she said.
Just two days before the BET Awards, Taylor celebrated Pierre’s 31st birthday with a surprise party. A fan-captured TikTok showed the Underground Railroad star walking into the room, visibly surprised, before sharing a kiss with Taylor.
Alongside a selfie of the couple, she wrote, “Cheers to Thirty-WON & many more wins around the sun. H’AP’PY BIRTHDAY Woody.”
Pierre sweetly responded, “Now and always. Thank you Tey.”
Teyana Taylor finalized her divorce from former NBA player Iman Shumpert on July 1, 2024, in Fulton County, Georgia. The legal proceedings, which included negotiations over child support and their parenting plan, resulted in a sealed settlement to protect the privacy of the former couple and their children.
Per court documents, Shumpert is ordered to pay $8,000 per month in child support and cover the cost of their daughters’ private school education.
Teyana and her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, welcomed their first child, Iman “Junie” Tayla Shumpert Jr., on December 16, 2015. The former couple had their second daughter, Rue Rose Shumpert, on September 6, 2020
