The rapper, born Tauheed Epps, has been expanding his creative portfolio beyond music. On May 3, he debuted his short film Red Clay at the 2025 Atlanta Film Festival. His family, Kesha and all three of their children, were there to support him at the premiere, joining a crowd that also included his mother and extended relatives.

Red Clay marks a major new chapter for 2 Chainz, who co-wrote the film with actor Omar Epps. The story centers on a teenager named Nook, growing up in early 2000s Atlanta while navigating the harsh realities of his mother’s drug addiction. Alongside his best friend Bub, Nook fights to stay hopeful and resilient in the face of adversity.

“I tell stories through my music, always hoping people feel empowered to overcome anything,” said 2 Chainz,. “‘Red Clay’ is an extension of that. Atlanta is full of resilience, and bringing Nook and Bub’s story to life—everyday folks fighting to survive—means everything to me. Creating this with Omar Epps was truly legendary.”

Epps echoed the sentiment, saying, “My inspiration to write this film came from the need to unpack brutal truths and showcase the complexities of why Black and brown communities normalize trauma. It’s my hope to inspire conversations that motivate people to have more grace and compassion toward one another.”

Fans of 2 Chainz can also hear his creative influence on the soundtrack. His collaboration with The Isley Brothers on “The ATL Experience” is featured in the film.
