Joshua Jackson has filed an emergency motion to modify the custody arrangement with his ex-wife, Jodie Turner-Smith, concerning their 5-year-old daughter, Juno.
Per court documents obtained by People Magazine, 46-year-old father filed the motion, at the end of May, alleging that his ex-wife Jodie Turner-Smith changed their daughter’s school without his permission.
In his declaration to the court, the Doctor Odyssey actor alleges that Turner-Smith Jodie asserts that it is “no big deal to force Juno to start over with a new school.” The actor is concerned that “Jodie is attempting to create a scenario where Juno travels with her rather than attending a traditional school.”
The Dawson’s Creek alum is petitioning the court to order Turner-Smith to keep their daughter in the school that she is currently attending for the next academic year. He is also asking the court to grant joint consent for any future school changes.

Back in October of last year, the British actress opened up, in an interview with Glamour Magazine, for her Woman of the Year cover story, about co-parenting with Jackson.
“It’s an adjustment period for anyone when they split up with someone because you’re used to being with your child all the time,” Turner-Smith shared with the outlet at the time. “But nobody hands you a manual. Everyone’s trying to figure it out.”
“Each parent has a different life, and especially if the reason why you’re splitting up is because you have different lives, it’s only further complicated by how you’re going to co-parent.” the 38-year-old actress added.

Turner-Smith married Jackson in secret in 2019. The couple welcomed Juno Rose Diana, to the world in April of 2020, splitting in October of 2023. At the time of their separation, a source told People Magazine that, “She decided that she is done. They are on very different paths in life. Jodie loves being a mom. She also loves working.”
The source continued saying that, the marriage itself turned “unhealthy”. “It turned into an unhealthy marriage that made her unhappy. They will co-parent their daughter. They want her to continue to thrive.”
Neither Turner-Smith nor Jackson have commented further on this new legal battle.
