Skai Jackson is showing appreciation for her son’s father, Yerkky Yerkky, whose real name is Deondre Burgin.
On Thursday, the actress gave him a birthday shoutout on Instagram Stories, sharing black-and-white photos of him holding their son, Kasai.
“Happy Birthday @yerkk.30,” she captioned one photo, where Kasai’s face was covered for privacy. “Thanks for being a great dad to Kasai.”
The Jessie actress, who welcomed baby Kasai in January, opened up about motherhood during a February appearance at Essence’s Black Women in Hollywood event.
Speaking to E! News, the 23-year-old reflected on her favorite part of being a parent.
“There’s so many favorite moments,” she said. “I feel like just seeing my baby every day.”
She added, “It’s just an amazing moment seeing them grow each day by each day. I’ve learned just how strong I am in this process of being a young mom.”
Skai has also been finding her rhythm when it comes to balancing her career and parenting.
“I have a lot of support and help, it’s been so amazing, so I’m able to balance both of it,” she shared.
Back in November, Jackson announced her pregnancy telling People she was excited for the road ahead.
“I’m thrilled to begin this new chapter in my life–embracing motherhood and driving into new acting projects,” the Bunk’d actress said at the time. “My heart is so full!”
Before giving birth, she debuted her baby bump at the December premiere of her latest film, The Man in the White Van.
In an interview about the movie, she explained, “It’s based on a true story from the ’70s. I hope that after seeing this film, everyone remembers to always be aware of your surroundings! I also hope it reminds parents to listen to their children when they are telling you something is going on,” she said in an interview.
