Alexis Skyy is honoring her daughter, Alaiya Grace, for Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month. The entrepreneur, who shares Alaiya with Brandon Medford, took to social media this week to share her pride and admiration for her little fighter.
Sharing a series of photos from a photoshoot of Alaiya, Alexis wrote on Instagram, “Against all odds, she rises and shines! So proud of my daughter for embracing her journey and showing the world her true brilliance. #ProudMom #ShineBright.”
In a video from the shoot, Alaiya shared an inspiring message: “My name is Alaiya. I am seven years old and I have cerebral palsy. And i beat all the odds so if i can do it, so can you.”
Alexis also shared a supportive message for special needs moms.
“To all the incredible special needs moms, your strength and love shine brighter than any challenge. This Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month, let’s celebrate the journeys of our little warriors and the resilience that defines us. Together, we rise, we support, and we beat all the odds!”
In a recent Instagram Live, Skyy opened up about Alaiya’s condition. She shared that her daughter has a mild form of cerebral palsy.
“The good thing about Laiyah’s condition is that the doctor said she could outgrow it because she was not born with Cerebral Palsy,” Alexis explained. “When she had hydrocephalus, she had a brain bleed and that caused her to have weakness on the left side of her body, which is a form of Cerebral Palsy. She has a very mild case of cerebral palsy. So with therapy and all the stuff that she’s in, she can beat it.”
She added, “LaiLai wasn’t born with Cerebral Palsy; they diagnosed her with it later on. So we’re going to keep pushing because my baby is a fighter and she beats all the odds and she’s very smart and don’t let anybody tell your kids any different. Trust me, that brain works perfectly fine.
