Kim Kardashian is facing backlash from online critics after sharing a TikTok video featuring her 11-year-old daughter, North West. The clip, posted on the joint TikTok account Kim shares with North, shows the preteen wearing a black and white outfit that many deemed inappropriate for her age.

In the video, North dances and lip-syncs to Ariana Grande’s “Santa Tell Me” while dressed in a black mini-skirt, a corset-inspired white top with a sweetheart neckline, black stockings, knee-high boots, and a cropped blazer. Though comments on the TikTok itself are turned off, critics took to Reddit to voice their opinions about North’s ensemble and Kim’s parenting choices.
“Why is this child wearing a bustier/corset?” one Reddit user questioned.
Another wrote, “I’m not prude but I wouldn’t let my 11-year-old wear a damn corset.”
A third commented, “Maybe it’s just anecdotal but when I was 11 I was still a child wearing modest clothing!”
Another slammed the SKIMS founder’s fashion choice for her daughter saying, “An 11-year-old shouldn’t be wearing a bustier/corset and showing cleavage on the internet.”

However, on the other side of the coin, there were many that came to the 44-year-old mother’s defense.
“I don’t think North would wear anything she wouldn’t wanna wear, and she loves fashion and gets it,” one commenter wrote.
Another chimed in, “She’s at a Christmas party with family, she looks beautiful. I understand people are sick but I wouldn’t call this any more exploitive than anyone posting their kid on social media.”
A third commented, “Her father, mother, aunts – they are fashion designers who work with the top fashion designers. It’s unrealistic to think she’d be wearing “normal 11 year old” attire all the time.”
One Reddit user said the entire look was “nice” except for one piece. “The tie throws off the look, aside from it, I think Northie looks nice.”
Three months ago, the eldest daughter of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian did an interview with Interview Magazine. Alongside her mother, the 11-year-old talked in great detail about her love of fashion and her personal fashion influences.
In the interview North said that her go-to style is a mixture of streetwear and the ’90s vibes. She also credits Tyler, the Creator, her dad, and herself as her style icons.
And of course, she wouldn’t be a Kardashian-West if she didn’t have her own fashion line in the works. “Well, I am starting my own clothing line,” she shared, with the outlet. When asked what she plans to name line, the answer was simple: “North West.”
In addition to North West, Kim shares three other children with Kanye West: Saint (9), Chicago (6), and Psalm (5).
