At just five years old, Christopher Bess is already making waves in the world of basketball—except he’s not playing the game, he’s coaching it.
The young prodigy, known for his impressive basketball knowledge and charisma, recently made a special appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where he shared his unique perspective on the sport and what it takes to be a great coach, regardless of age.
Christopher’s visit to the show was filled with hilarious moments, inspiring anecdotes, and a jaw-dropping surprise courtesy of the Los Angeles Lakers.
During his interview, Coach CB revealed his incredible dedication to his craft. The adorable 5-year-old admitted he starts his weekends bright and early, waking up at 3 a.m. for film study and heading to practice by 5 a.m.
A stunned Jennifer Hudson asked, “You take this job very seriously, don’t you?”
With a grin, Christopher replied, “I got to get paid a lot!”
Coach CB didn’t stop there—he also shared his breakfast routine, which includes French toast sticks, Cheerios, and a morning “coffee” (his trusty apple juice box, of course). His dedication to a balanced start to the day might explain his boundless energy and focus.
But Coach CB isn’t just a basketball wiz—he’s also hitting academic goals. During the show, he revealed he’s working hard to become bilingual, adding Spanish to his skill set.
The one regret that Coach CB told Hudson that he had in regards to his last visit to Los Angeles was missing a Lakers Game. Well, the “Here I Am” singer had a surprise for the young basketball coach to make things right.
“Our friends at the Los Angeles Lakers knew you were coming and they sent you something,” she explained, bringing out a Lakers jersey for Coach CB and tickets for him and his entire family to see the Lakers play.
