Sophie Kodjoe, the 19-year-old daughter of actors Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker, will make her debut at the annual Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris on November 30.
Known for its tradition of introducing young women from the realms of business, entertainment, and the aristocracy from around the world, the annual event will showcase debutantes from across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the U.S.
Each young woman in attendance will walk in with a cavalier—either someone of her choosing or one selected by the event organizers.
Sophie will be escorted by her cavalier, Toussaint Pierre-Vargas, while wearing a stunning haute couture gown by none other than Oscar de la Renta.
The young debutante was recently seen at the Oscar de la Renta atelier, selecting her dress, and the moment was shared on the official Le Bal Instagram page.
The post featured Sophie trying on three different gowns, with a caption highlighting the event’s focus on celebrating excellence and empowering women:
“Here is Sophie, the American #Deb2024, selecting her gown. Le Bal celebrates excellence, the empowering of women, and the harmony between débutantes and cavaliers from all over the world.”
In addition to her upcoming Parisian debut, Sophie is balancing the demands of her freshman year at Howard University.
Meanwhile, her 17-year-old brother, Nicolas, is shining in the basketball world, recently representing Germany at the Junior Olympics and European Championships.
Boris and Nicole, who have been married since 2005, couldn’t be prouder of their children.
In a recent interview with People, Boris joked about how they are adjusting to their kids getting older.
“We just hang out at the house, naked,” Boris joked. “And we have a good time without anybody around.”
He added that time alone is “a luxury to have” and “We never get bored, trust me.”
