Congratulations are in order for How To Get Away With Murder actress, Amirah Vann. The 44-year-old welcomed baby number two with long time partner, Patrick Oyeku.
The mother-of-two took to Instagram and shared a carousel of exclusive photos from People Magazine of she and her expanding family.
“Our hearts are full. This summer, Zoë Oyeku arrived. Grateful to God for every smile, cuddle and 3 AM feeding,” Vann and Oyeku told the outlet in their interview. “We love you so much and your sisters are thrilled. Life just got that much sweeter and purpose that much clearer. Que Dios te bendiga mi amor.”
Zoë joins her big sister, three-year-old Nyla. In addition to Nyla, Zoë has two other big sisters, who are Oyeku’s daughters from a previous relationship.
In February of 2023, Vann and Oyeku celebrated Nyla’s third birthday. Vann shared birthday wishes on social media to her first born, captioning an adorable picture of Nyla in between mom and dad, “Happy 2nd Birthday to you, Nyla! My heart beats to the rhythm of your discoveries, the pace when you corre corre corre (run), the forte and piano discovery of your voice.”
She concluded her caption, “You are life. You are love. God bless you mi vida! Mommy and daddy love you so much! #cumpleanosfeliz #okuojoibi.”
In December of 2020, a pregnant Vann sat down with Glamour Magazine, opening up about her first pregnancy and its complications in a candid conversation as told to writer, Ruhama Woole. The poignant and beautiful first-person piece celebrated the “blessing of new life” during a time of extreme uncertainty.
A snippet from the piece at the time read:
“Naively, I imagined that pregnancy was a baby shower followed by the arrival of your glorious blessing. But, I have to be honest, it’s not a smooth ride. Pregnancy is hard. I remember calling and confronting my girlfriends—’Ladies, why didn’t you tell me the truth?’ Or maybe they had, and I’d just chosen to hear the laughter. This idea that it would be all the wonderful things that I feel most people eulogize felt elusive. Pregnancy is many things for sure—a joy, a privilege, even a calling.”
Congratulations, Amirah on fulfilling your “calling” a second time around. We cannot wait to see your beautiful family continue to blossom and grow!
