A resurfaced video of Sean “Diddy” Combs from 2020 has sparked concern for the well-being of a young girl he introduced as his “adopted daughter.”
The video, which has gained renewed attention following the music mogul’s recent arrest and indictment, shows Diddy introducing a girl named Ava Baroni as part of his family.
However, reports have revealed that despite his claims, Diddy was never her legal guardian. Acording to TMZ, sources familiar with the situation have confirmed that Diddy never formally adopted Ava.
The video, which shows Combs introducing Ava as “Ava Baroni Combs” during an Instagram Live session, was reportedly a “skit” that has now been “overblown by concerned fans”.
Diddy claimed to have adopted the girl because he wanted her to have a “Black parent,” likening his actions to other celebrity adoptions, such as Madonna and Sandra Bullock.
During the Instagram Live, Ava described her backstory, saying that she had been “on the streets” before “Papa Combs” took her in.
However, she later clarified that she met Diddy’s twin daughters, Jessie and D’Lila, when they were just 6 months old. She said they are “basically llike sisters” and that she always comes over the Combs household.
Sources say that Ava’s parents were actually close friends of Kim Porter, Diddy’s late ex and mother of three of his children, including D’Lila and Jessie. While Ava may have spent time with the family in the past, the connection was never formalized as an adoption.
In fact, TMZ’s insider revealed that Ava’s parents have since distanced themselves from Combs, especially in the wake of his recent legal troubles.
Diddy is currently behind bars awaiting his next court appearance. It has been reported that Diddy’s seven children are in a state of “crisis and shock” over their father’s situation.
