Nick Cannon and Alyssa Scott enjoyed a special family outing with their daughter, Halo Marie, and her maternal sister, Zeela, earlier this week. The day out included a fun treat of cotton candy at Polar Playground.
“Halo had a blast,” Nick shared on Instagram alongside a video of their fun excursion.
While Cannon and Scott cherish these precious moments with Halo, they carry the memory of their late son, Zen, who died from brain cancer in 2021.
In June of this year, the couple hosted a celebration in honor of Zen, who would have turned three on June 23rd.
On Instagram, Nick Cannon shared an emotional tribute to his late son, writing, “Today is the day we celebrate the life of my little guy Zen Scott Cannon, truly an Angel so every 6/23 is a tough one. But the goal is always to try to turn pain into purpose. I love you Zen. Your light will shine forever my Son. #ZensLight”.”
He continued, “Thank you for all the love and support that everyone sent our way today. Truly appreciate everyone who showed up and celebrated our beautiful Angel, ZEN SCOTT CANNON 6/23.”
In December 2021, Cannon revealed on his talk show that Zen had passed from a brain tumor that was discovered when he was just two months old.
Choosing to prioritize Zen’s comfort over invasive treatments, Cannon and Scott made the decision to give their baby boy a peaceful and loving life, however brief it may have been.
“We were faithful and hopeful for that time,” Cannon said on his talk show. “We carried on, he was still just playing with his brothers and sisters, I embraced every moment.”
In addition to Halo Marie, Cannon shares twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey; sons Golden Sagon and Rise Messiah, and daughter Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell; twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa; daughter Onyx with Lanisha Cole; son Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi; and of course, his late son Zen with Alyssa Scott.
