There’s a new rumor in town, this time involving singer Fantasia Barrino’s daughter, Zion Quari Barrino.
A recent post circulating on social media has sparked concern, alleging that Zion is in critical condition in the ICU. The Facebook rumor claims that Zion’s health has rapidly deteriorated, with doctors giving her only a few days to live.
However, we can confirm that this story is completely false. In fact, these rumors have been circulating since 2023 and are entirely unfounded.
Zion is perfectly fine, and and even took to Instagram earlier today to debunk the rumors, saying, “I’m not in ICU. And wishing death on me is really [messed] up.”
Not only is Zion doing well, but she also recently hit a personal milestone worth celebrating..
On August 11, 2024, the 23-year-old took to her Threads account to share a message with her followers. She proudly announced that she had been sober for 60 days, celebrating a significant achievement in her life.
“Today, I celebrate one of the hardest challenges in my life,” Barrino shared with her followers on Sunday, August 11.
“I was sick for 3 weeks, but I pressed through, with the grace of God. I met some amazing people on this new journey and gained a community, love, and unbearable support from my family. Happy 60 days today to me [red heart emoji]. If you are struggling, I’m here to help and talk about my journey.”
Though Zion didn’t specify what she was sober from, her courage and openness have resonated with many of her followers.
