Coco Gauff and New Balance have debuted their latest sneaker collaboration, the Coco CG2, enhancing the design and performance of her first signature shoe. Launched online at the end of August, the Coco CG2 features elements inspired by the 550s, including a tennis ball on the tongue and a geometric design. The shoe also highlights suede overlays and architectural influences from Paris.
A few weeks ago, at her launch party for the new shoe design, the tennis phenom shared a carousel of Images on social media, thanking everyone for coming out to support and showing off the collection.
“thank you to everyone who came out to support the launch of my second signature shoe with @newbalance #CG2!! and big shoutout to @c.syresmith for the surprise performance and for coming out to support,” the 20-year-old wrote in her caption. “#CocosCourt is available to you guys for one more day (details in last slide). You can shop my shoe online and in store. However, there is an exclusive color way in store just for my nyc peeps only.”
In addition to New Balance, Gauff has also partnered with a myriad of businesses that include: UPS, Carol’s Daughter, Bose, Naked Smoothies, and Barilla. In a statement about her latest collaboration with New Balance, Gauff said that her relationship with the athletic wear manufacturer is very special and that “they are like family.”
“I’ve been with the team since I was 14 years old and they are really like family to me,” she shared.
“Over the last six years, I’ve grown so much as an athlete and person, both on and off the tennis court. The New Balance team has been there for every step of my journey and truly let me be myself when it comes to product and design. I had as much fun designing and collaborating on the CG2 as I did with the CG1.”
The New Balance Coco CG2 is now available for purchase on newbalance.com. The shoe retails for $170.
