VIRAL SOCIAL MEDIA STAR KNOWA DE BARASO DEVELOPS SHOW FOR RONALD MARTIN’S PLATFORM

You may remember his face from this year’s Democratic National Convention. Twelve-year-old political social media star, Knowa De Baraso went viral for his encounter with Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow and staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump. Well, fast-forward, and De Baraso is now on track to develop his own show for Ronald Martin’s platform, Black Star Network.

The truly political saavy preteen impressed Martin so much that he offered him a job, on the spot at the convention. The 55-year-old journalist told Variety, in a recent interview that De Baraso has captivated him on multiple levels.

“It’s not just his knowledge of the issues. It’s his energy.”

The Houston-native continued, “It’s all about the desire and the urgency of the individual. This kid’s got it. You have to nurture that and develop that. Those of us in African American media have to leverage our platform to create opportunities for the next generation.”

The Atlanta, GA-native is a true Democrat and vehement supporter of Kamala Harris. The 12-year-old credits meeting Stacey Abrams, who was a gubernatorial candidate for Georgia in 2022, for his political awakening. The preteen told Variety that he immediately felt a connection with Abrams and when he had the opportunity to meet her, they talked “policy.”

“We had a great conversation about policy,” De Baraso remembered the moment. After that initial moment, De Baraso was hooked. Now, the young political figure shares political information, content, and opinions with his 23.6K followers on just Instagram alone. De Baraso can also be found on TikTok and X talking policy, electoral politics, and more there as well.

When asked why he does what he does, De Baraso told Variety that he has no other choice to do what he is doing because, “Democracy’s at stake – that’s why I do it.”

If you think that De Baraso may end up in politics one day, you would be correct. During a recent appearance on the “Breakfast Club,” host Charlamagne Tha God called him “the future governor of Georgia.” We would unquestionably have to agree!
