The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Candiace Dillard Bassett and her husband, Chris Bassett, are expecting a baby boy.
In an exclusive chat with Us Weekly, Candiace shared her excitement and revealed that she had a strong intuition about the baby’s gender from the start.
“I started to feel a masculine energy,” Dillard Bassett shared. “I just couldn’t deny the feeling of a sweet little boy growing inside of me.”
In the mean time, Candiace is enjoying every moment of her pregnancy. She describes the experience of being pregnant as “the most magical and indescribable experience”.
She added, “I think I’m actually going to miss it, but I also can’t wait to meet him and stare at him all day!”
Fans of The Real Housewives of Potomac have witnessed Candiace and Chris’s journey to parenthood on the show, including the emotional ups and downs of fertility treatments.
The couple openly shared their experiences, from counseling sessions to preparing for in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Their upcoming bundle of joy is the result of one of the embryos they froze two years ago, a decision they made after much consideration.
Reflecting on their journey, Candiace shared with ET, “I think we were both kind of content to have them just sit there until my ‘cut-off date,’” Candiace admits, referring to Chris’s ultimatum about starting a family before he turned 50.
“But then I got the itch. I always wondered, like, how would I know when I was ready? And I always felt like a part of my anxiety was that I wasn’t sure that I would know, and when I knew, it was undeniable.”
Baby Bassett, who is expected to arrive in fall, will be the first child, for Candiace. Chris, on the other hand, has three children from a previous relationship.
