On Sunday, September 1, 50 Cent took to Instagram to celebrate a special milestone: his son Sire Jackson’s 12th birthday.
“My little man SIRE is getting big, he’s 12 today. Happy Birthday,” the proud father wrote alongside a series of photos of him doting on his second-born.
Fans loved the father-son snaps, with many expressing their excitement at seeing 50 Cent’s softer side.
One commenter wrote, “Big man still daddy’s baby! I love to see it.”
“I love this.. most dads honestly start treating their children like grown up by 12. The coddling must be mixed in to make them understand the safety net is always there whether visible or not! Love is so good,” another wrote.
However, some fans used the opportunity to voice concerns about 50 Cent’s strained relationship with his older son, Marquise Jackson. One user commented, “Wish his older son could make peace with his father”.
Sire’s mother, Daphne Joy, did not share any birthday wishes on social media. The model has stayed silent online since being linked to a sex trafficking lawsuit involving music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs earlier this year.
The lawsuit, filed by music producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, named Joy as one of the alleged sex workers Diddy employed.
Following the lawsuit’s revelation, 50 Cent filed for sole custody of Sire, then 11 years old. A source close to the situation revealed to Us Weekly, “Given the latest developments and news of Daphne Joy’s involvement in the Diddy lawsuit, 50 is going for sole custody of his son.
50 later confirmed the news on Instagram saying, “It is what it is. see you in Family court, sex worker!”
The comment sparked a heated response from Joy, who vehemently denied all allegations against her and accused 50 Cent of neglecting his responsibilities as a father.
She wrote on Instagram, “Curtis James Jackson, Everything is a joke to you until our safety is compromised, which is happening now. You are wreaking real havoc, frenzy, and chaos onto people’s lives. How would u feel if Sire was the one in handcuffs? For nothing.”
She continued, “We moved to New York to give you the opportunity to be a father to your son and you saw him 10 times out of the 2 years that we lived 1 mile away from you. I am tired of upholding and protecting an image to our son that you have never even earned.”
In response, 50 Cent filed a defamation lawsuit against Joy, accusing her of spreading false allegations against him, including claims of rape.
