Pregnant Cardi B and Offset came together on Saturday for a special occasion—their son Wave’s third birthday.
The couple, who recently made headlines with the news of their divorce, threw an extravagant airline-themed party at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey.
The celebration, which featured Wave’s name displayed as the “airline,” was a nod to his love of airplanes.
Both Cardi and Offset took to Instagram to share glimpses of the special day with their followers. Offset posted a video of Cardi dancing with Wave in her arms, her growing baby bump on full display. Cardi reciprocated with a sweet clip of Offset bending down to dance with Wave.
Cardi, 31, announced her pregnancy on August 1, just a day after filing for divorce from Offset, 32.
She expressed her gratitude for her unborn child on Instagram, writing, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all!”
In addition to Wave, Cardi and Offset share a six-year-old daughter named Kulture. The couple is expecting their third child together.
She continued, “You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”
Cardi previously filed for divorce from Offset in September 2020 but the two got back together. According to a representative,the current divorce filing is not driven by infidelity but is a decision that has been developing over time.
A friend of Cardi’s shared that she has been handling the situation calmly and is focused on her children.
“It wasn’t like, “Oh, she woke up one day, some incident happened, and this was it. She’s been very calm about everything, and she’s focused on her kids.”
“She is excited about this new baby, and she’s recording, so everything with her is actually pretty good.”
